1.618 or Phi is a concept that refers to the Golden Ratio - a division of a line segment into a unique ratio that gives us satisfying proportions in art and nature.
This app can show us where it exists in out lives.
THE SENTIENT SOUL
How will massive amounts of data define who we are and also destroy who we believe is our unique and human selves? Is it something other than what we buy, where we bank, how much exercise have we done?
This piece is not a critique about our data driven world -- but a way of thinking conceptually about an acknowledgement, wishful thinking, maybe a desire of what could be. Perhaps even about the weaknesses of our existing lives.
CHASING VERBS
Searching the MET collection through
the Eyes of an Artist.
Richard Serra, the conceptual sculptor, famously said “Drawing is a verb”, and created his famous work on paper called 'Verblist' (1967), in which he compiled a series of verbs called "actions to relate to oneself, material, place, and process."
Can a search using a verb uncover the processes what artists 'DO' to make art?

SWAMP WALK
Stepping into the Great Swamp
Swamps in folklore has been a source of terror and fascination but they're actually valuable ecosystems. Swamp Walk uses a storytelling time series to weave together the historical and cultural prejudices and the ecological value of a swamp, along with archival graphics from the jetport battle that took place in The Great Swamp in New Jersey between 1959 to 1970.

The U.S. involvement began almost with from the start of the Arab Spring uprising in 2011, which resulted into a Syrian civil war. Up to half a million people has died in the war, including around a hundred thousand civilians.By May 2011, millions of people had fled from the war to neighboring countries, with even larger numbers displaced within Syria itself.
A disproportionate amount of children have been affected, with no end in sight.
